Can only computer science majors apply for SWE roles?

Hi, I do not have formal education in computer science (CS) but have self-learned it and developed some tools. Would I be considered?

We are open to candidates from different backgrounds, as long as they are able to meet our technical bar for hiring. We do not screen people out on the basis of major or academic achievement alone, but look more at experience and expertise in the field, e.g. we have hired self taught programmers before as well.
